Election, Halloween, and spare time

Woo-hoo! I'm listening to election details as I write this and the totals are coming in. It's time for the democratic swing of the pendulum.

Halloween was great, I got to go around the block with some friends and I went to a party last week.

I'm working on a ZZT project. I'm actually organizing a group project over on z2 [link] . You know how in trading card games, the card artwork is done by several different people? Well, I'm organizing a project where every screen of the game is made by a different person. Feel free to watch/participate at the relevant thread: [link] .

Hey, been a while. I just noticed those extra comments you left on my ASCII wars deviation, about your site and everything ... I don't get a notification when you reply to your own comments so I never knew they were there! Sadly I got a new computer for Christmas and ZZT just doesn't work on it ... It doesn't support fullscreen mode and the PC speaker is crap. :( So there will probably be no more.

I used to have those exact same problems and I solved them all with a single tool:
Dosbox. The open-source Dos emulator.

I've been using it to play ZZT and it works like a charm, even fixes the sound by sending it to your normal speakers instead of the PC Speaker! There's even a slimmed-down one that runs on a flash drive so I can show it to other people.

wow, I guess you plan ahead pretty well, too. All my failed comics just picked up a premise and ad-libbed until they died from boringness (or incomprehensibility, in the case of a few of my let's-break-the-unwritten-rules-and-see-if-anyone-can-understand-the-comic expiriments).

Yeah, I tried that method too and it didn't work for me either. Scripting is the right way to go.
